Attendance Matters in Salem-Keizer!
We all want our students to do well in the classroom, to be prepared for graduation and beyond and to love their school. Regular attendance and engagement is a proven way to help students learn, grow and build a strong sense of community.
How Attendance Impacts Academic Progress
Being at school as much as possible helps students stay on track in their classes, make progress toward academic standards, and ensure that they have access to resources and support when needed.
Our data shows that students who attend regularly are more likely to be on grade level for reading in third grade, and are more likely to be on track to graduate by the end of their first year of high school.
Did you know that missing only two days of school each month adds up to nearly a month of lost instructional time over the school year? That’s why Attendance Matters for every student in Salem-Keizer Public Schools.
