Gubser School Details

• Gubser Elementary is a kindergarten through fifth-grade school with an enrollment that averages around 590 students. Child care services are available before and after school thru Salem Child Development.
• Our nickname is the Gators.
• Gubser was constructed in 1977 and is named Joy Hills Gubser. She was a teacher at Leslie and Parrish middle schools, Salem High School, and was also principal at Leslie. She supervised the social studies curriculum in Salem’s senior and junior high schools from 1928 to 1942. She was associate state superintendent for the Oregon Department of Education from 1949 to 1971.​
